Camphor oil, White, China has a somewhat medicinal nose-opening clean aroma. This lot is from a high camphor chemotype with confirmed 29.9 to 31 %. It also contains significant eucalyptol peaks around 20 percent. Highly recommended in aromatherapy for respiratory congestion. This oil blends well with rosemary and eucalyptus.
Practically speaking there are three types of Camphor Oil, Blue, Brown and White. Blue is considered the heaviest consisting mainly of sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpene alcohols with faint scents. Brown Camphor's main constituent is Safrole. Another common chemotype is high in eucalyptol and therefore resembles Eucalyptus.
Cautions: Should be avoided by those with epilepsy and asthma. Do not use during pregnancy. Use with caution, as camphor can be a skin irritant.
